Ellen Pompeo, 38, and fiancé Chris Ivery, 38 married on Friday at City Hall in Lower Manhattan. Her dad tells PEOPLE, “I’m very happy for her. She just didn’t want a big thing.”
They two met in the most unsuspecting place, the grocery store, (just like the book says to do) in 2003 and began dating six months later.
